For over 40 years, George has maintained a proven track record in the successful completion of billion dollar mining projects in all terrains and conditions. An innovator in the mining industry, George has pioneered many techniques and approaches in underground mining that have been widely adopted and have become industry standard today.

George is currently the director of Australian Mining Engineering Consultants (AMEC), an engineering consultancy based in Queensland, Australia. AMEC provides engineering services focused on the Central Queensland mining industry and specialises in automated systems for mining underground operations. With George at the helm, AMEC has also become one of the first points of contact for any mining emergency or catastrophic underground incident within Australia.

Doctor George Klenowski has MSc. and PhD degrees in Engineering and has written over 25 publications including peer reviewed scientific and engineering papers and books.
